外八庙是承德避暑山庄附近的十二座皇家寺院，其中的绝大部分都建于乾隆一朝。外八庙的建筑带有乾隆皇帝的个人印迹，寺院从规划到设计都倾注了乾隆的许多心思和谋划，是清代建筑文化的重要组成部分。
